About Me

My name is Emma Davies, and I will graduate high school in 2021.  I am currently a level 10 gymnast at Gymnastix Training Center in Buford, GA, under the coaching direction of Rachel Page and Brad McLaren.  I have been doing gymnastics since I was 4 years old, and it is truly my passion.  I train 20 hours a week, and I couldn’t imagine my life without gymnastics.

I’m a very competitive person, and I always love new challenges, so gymnastics has been the perfect sport for me.  One of my favorite parts of gymnastics is learning and mastering new skills.  I bring lots of energy, motivation, and spark to our team.  I am always encouraging and cheering my teammates on, no matter the situation.  I am a consistent gymnast and several of my recent accomplishments include:  8th place Vault at 2019 Level 10 Region 8 Championships, 2nd Place on Vault, Bar, Floors, and All-Around at the 2019 Level 10 Georgia State Championships, 7th place Vault 2018 Level 9 Eastern Championships;  3rd place Vault Region 8 Level 9 Regionals; 5th place Bars & Beam Region 8 Level 9 Regionals; 4th place All-Around Region 8 Level 9 Regionals; 3rd place All-Around Level 9 Georgia State Championships; 2nd place Vault Level 9 Georgia State Championships; 3rd place Floor Level 9 Georgia State Championships.

I attend Denmark High School in Cumming, Georgia, full-time, where I am enrolled in several AP classes.  I have maintained straight A’s throughout my high school career and received several academic honors.  I am also a member of Senior Beta Club, National Honor Society, and Rotary Interact Club.  Outside of school and gym, I volunteer for my church and for Meals by Grace, an organization that provides food and services to the families of local needy school children.  I also work part-time at a local DIY business called “Pine & Pigment.”  I love to hang out with my friends, watch movies, and tell jokes.

One of my main goals since I first started doing gymnastics has been to be a college gymnast.  I love the team atmosphere and spirit that college gymnastics brings.   Team bonding is one of the most important and fun parts of gymnastics to me.  College gymnastics would also give me a sense of accountability, not only for my team, but also for my academics.  Most importantly, though, it can provide me with a foundation for life after sport.  Learning to work through and adapt to the challenges that gymnastics brings individually and as a team will prepare me for “real life” experiences.
